AMREEKA

Recently i have watched a very simple but worthy movie called "Amreeka". the film was produced by the Americans but the director was Arabic. the central story is the story of a Palestinian woman who won the green card and decided to go live in the states together with her son. this is a very touching, kind and up-to-date story told from the point of view of the palestinians. the way the apprehend America, the troubles they always face when they come to settle in the country absorbed in the war with the arabic states. but in fact it has nothing to do with the war and hatred that is so praised - it is the story about love and relationship that can arise only between people depending on who they actually are at heart but not titled in the passport.
i was in israel and i saw terrible things. and i am sure that both sides behave in the wrong manner but we can do nothing about this. we can only watch and never judge. we must accept all the people despite of their nation's history because what is left when all the wars are finished - is something really precious - it's love and friendship - and nothing else matters.
by the way, chess was the game invented by the Arabs. and checkmate comes from the Arabic "sheikh mett" that means "the king is dead".
